PaWeCan Do It is an independent movement born from Save Philippine Seas' Sea and Earth Advocates (SEA) Camp in 2015. It was created to educate the locals in Sarangani Province and General Santos City the importance of marine turtles in our oceans and to humans. We also involved marine conservation, biodiversity, and global environment issue in our advocacy.
The name is a pun made to sounds like "Pawikan", the Filipino term for a marine turtle. It hopes to encourage people, especially the youths, to be proactive in biodiversity conservation and to help resonates optimism and hope in this line of work.

WHERE ARE WE LOCATED?
Our works mainly focus in places surrounding the Sarangani Bay, General Santos City and the coastal municipalities of Sarangani Province namely Alabel, Malapatan, Glan, Maasim, Kiamba, and Maitum. The Sarangani Bay is located in southeastern Mindanao. The bay was established as a protected seascape on 3 May 1996 declared under NIPAS through proclamation number 756.
The Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape (SBPS) hosts a diverse marine flora and fauna, not to mention, Dugong (Dugong dugon), whale shark (Rhincodon typus), etc. and its shores are natural nesting areas of green turtles (Chelonia mydas), hawksbills (Eretmochelys imbricata), and olive ridleys (Lepidochelys olivacea).
