Biodiversity Talks

 

To fight ecological illiteracy, the team uses its knowledge on biodiversity to provide free public lectures, symposia, and talks to different institutions in Sarangani & GenSan. These are done to help non-science majors deepen their understanding about our natural world.

World Wildlife Day Social Media Campaign

 

Our team participates in the annual celebration of the World Wildlife Day, March 2, through producing campaign materials in social media. This is to help increase the public awareness on the world's threatened wildlife species. 

PROJECTS

PaWeCan Do It!

 

 

A day of lecture-seminar about marine turtle conservation to the women and children of Brgy. Kiambing, Maitum Sarangani Province. This was a SEA Camp Project of Save Philippine Seas initiated by John Enriq T. Batapa, one of the co-founders. 

PawikCaravan

A massive education campaign to the coastal schools in Sarangani Province about the significance of marine turtles in the oceans, the threats they face, and the legal framework for their conservation.

Marine Conservation Camp

​

Also called 'PawiCamp' is a capacity-building and environmental leadership camp for 25 youths all over Sarangani and General Santos. It harnessed the passion of the participants to create waves of change in their respective communities.

Pawikan Stewardship Program

​

 

A series of capacity-building training to youths in Maitum, Sarangani Province to enhance their environmental leadership skills. It taught them of the basics of marine turtle conservation. It has three phases: an environmental leadership workshop, study tour, and the project application.

Hatchery Rehabilitation Project

 

To strengthen the local conservation practices of marine turtle hatcheries in Sarangani Province, the team helped in the rehabilitation of those hatcheries following the guidelines set by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
